More Dangers of Cosmetics
Hi there, have you read my previous article on the dangers of cosmetics? Well, in that article, I basically highlighted three points. One that we should not put on makeup or cosmetics while we are doing other things such as driving, two is that we should take good care when storing our cosmetics and must never use cosmetics which we can clearly tell that it has turned bad and three is that we should never share cosmetics with other persons and to take care when trying out cosmetic samples at the departmental store.
With this article, I plan to continue where I left off and continue to talk about the dangers of cosmetics. Do you know that cosmetics can cause skin problems? Fragrances and preservatives are the main ingredients in cosmetics and both these substances can cause skin problems. Fragrances are the most common cause of skin problems and more than five thousand different kinds of fragrances are commonly used for cosmetic products. If you are buying cosmetics, make sure that you look for cosmetic products marked “fragrance-free” or “without perfume”. This means that no fragrances were added to the cosmetic to make it smell good. Sunscreen
Now guess which is the agent which causes the second most numbers of skin problems. Well it is preservatives. Preservatives are added to cosmetics to prevent bacteria and fungus from growing in the product. These preservatives aim to prolong the life of the cosmetics and prevent it from going bad too fast. In addition, preservatives protect the cosmetics from being damaged by constant exposure to air or light. Though the use of preservatives can be essential for the cosmetics, the use of some preservatives can cause irritation and infection of skin. Some examples of preservatives include paraben, imidazolidinyl urea, quaternium-15, DMDM hydantoin, phenoxyethanol and formaldehyde.
With such cosmetic products on the market, it is best to be careful when buying cosmetics. What I would recommend is that you check out natural cosmetics. Natural is the in thing these days. When I talk about natural cosmetics, I am talking about organic or mineral cosmetics or make up that is derived from natural and non-chemical sources. These days, many of the cosmetic companies claim that their products are natural and do not do not contain any synthetic chemicals nor were the cosmetics ever tested on animals. Such cosmetics are very highly recommended for people with allergies or those with multiple chemical sensitivities. If your dermatologist advises that you cannot apply any makeup, there seems to be another option for you right now. Why not try out natural cosmetics? I am sure that this would be one of the safest ways to have a pretty face but not take any risks.
